Sample Measurement Specifications

Model specifications are available for multiple PSM-recommended measurements.  Each specification is written by a PSM Member, and includes the following information:

  • Information Need description
  • Measurable Concept
  • Entities and Attributes
  • Base Measure Specification
  • Derived Measure Specification
  • Indicator Specification
  • Data Collection Procedure (for each Base Measure)
  • Data Analysis Procedure (for each Indicator)
  • Additional information

Measurement Specification Template

Click on a measure to download a specification.  The measures with a "(p)" after the measure name are specifications that are partially complete. Measurement specifications that contain only prospective indicators (i.e. charts) are identified with an "(i)" after the measure name. The measures without links are specifications in need a volunteer to create the specification.  Contact the PSM Support Center to volunteer to write a measurement specification.

Note: Indicators are often trends over time of planned versus actual values. They might also be represented as rates, status as of one date, comparisons between attributes or entities, or other relationships.
